On November 4, 2026, Yulia Shuba, a Senior Lawyer at Borovtsov & Salei, acted as an expert at a seminar for members of the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (AIPM) titled "Pharmaceutical Company Websites in Belarus: Legal Requirements, Restrictions, and Practical Recommendations."

During the seminar, participants examined current Belarusian legal requirements—covering advertising, mass media, and personal data protection—as they apply to the corporate and product-specific websites of pharmaceutical companies. They also explored the legal risks involved in posting and disseminating information online.

Particular attention was given to the distinction between providing information about medicinal products and advertising them. Using practical examples, the speaker addressed the nuances of publishing details regarding prescription and over-the-counter drugs, the use of images of consumer packaging, and the development of educational initiatives about medical conditions—ensuring such projects do not inadvertently constitute the covert promotion of medicinal products.

The expert provided recommendations on preparing and publishing essential documentation on corporate websites—such as Personal Data Processing Policies and Terms of Use—as well as guidance on configuring feedback forms and managing cookies.

The speaker emphasized that legal compliance must be considered as early as the website development stage, rather than only after the site has been launched. Furthermore, legal oversight should be conducted on a regular basis: it is important to monitor changes and updates to a website, as even the publication of new material or the adjustment of existing information can potentially lead to a violation of the law.
